Özyeğin University Chess Teams Crowned Türkiye Champions

Özyeğin University’s women’s and men’s chess teams have been crowned Türkiye Champions at the Interuniversity Chess Championship, securing first place in their respective categories with outstanding performances.

Our championship-winning women’s team featured Eylül Çelik, a senior Mechanical Engineering student, and Begüm Aladağ, a junior Industrial Engineering student, whose success brought the national title to our University.

In the men’s team, Emirhan Tarlabaşı, a senior Computer Science student, and Kayra Kamer, a freshman Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, crowned their achievements as board winners. Meanwhile, Enes Tanrıverdi, a sophomore Law student, and Umut Ata Akbaş, a freshman International Finance student, also demonstrated remarkable strategic skill throughout the competition, contributing decisively to their team’s rise to the top.
