Özyeğin University Named among the Top 5 Foundation Universities of Türkiye both in THE Asia Universities and Young Universities 2024 Rankings

Özyeğin University has increased its ranking both in the “Asian Universities Ranking 2024” and “Young Universities Ranking 2024,” conducted annually by Times Higher Education (THE), a London-based higher education ranking institution. Our university ranked in the 201-250 joint among the 673 universities ranking worldwide and 5th among the 58 universities from Türkiye in the “Young Universities Ranking 2024.” The ranking compares the institutions founded within the past 50 years. ÖzU also ranks in the 201-250 joint for the “Asian Universities Ranking 2024” among the 739 universities included in the ranking, 10th among the 75 universities from Türkiye, and 5th among foundation universities.

The “Young Universities Ranking 2024” methodology consists of 17 indicators covering the dimensions of Research Quality (30%), Research Environment (29%), Teaching (29.5%), Industry (4%), and International Outlook (7.5%). The most important feature distinguishing this ranking from the THE World University Rankings is that it follows a methodology in which research and teaching reputation indicator weights are lower due to the limited recognition of the institutions founded within the past 50 years.

In turn, the “Asia University Rankings 2024” methodology consists of 17 indicators covering the pillars of Research Quality (30%), Research Environment (28%), Teaching (24.5%), Industry (10%), and International Outlook (7.5%).

Özyeğin University improved its scores in four out of five indicators in both rankings. In the “Asia University Rankings 2024,” our university made the most progress in Research Quality and Industry indicators due to its research-oriented approach. Its most improved scores for the “Young Universities Ranking 2024” consist of Industry, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Research Environment indicators.
