“Özyeğin University Artificial Intelligence Platform” Brings Together Public Sector, Private Sector and Aademia

Özyeğin University President Prof. Barış Tan attended the launch of “Özyeğin University Artificial Intelligence Platform,” a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to shape the future of business through advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) in Türkiye.

The launch was held on June 12, 2025, at Swissôtel The Bosphorus. The platform is founded on robust collaborations with some of Türkiye’s leading organizations, including Anadolu Group, Credit Europe Bank NV, Credit Europe Bank Russia, Credit Europe Bank Suisse, FIBA, FIBA Retail, FİBABANKA, Gelecek Varlık, Hitit, Hepsiburada, ING Türkiye, İş Bankası, KoçDigital, Lenovo, Mavi Jeans, Migros, Pegasus, QNB Finansbank, TAV, Trendyol, and Yıldız Holding. The platform also features distinguished academic partners —Koç University, Sabancı University, and the Berkeley Haas Institute for Business Innovation—recognized for their cutting-edge research and expertise in artificial intelligence.

In his opening remarks, Özyeğin University President Prof. Barış Tan stated: “Guided by our vision of becoming an ‘Entrepreneurial Research University with a High Global Impact,’ we have positioned ourselves as a hub for knowledge generation and problem-solving, not only in Türkiye but also across regions such as the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe.  The Artificial Intelligence Platform is a testament to our commitment to collaboratively developing pioneering solutions that drive sectoral transformation.”

Prof. İrşadi Aksun, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Impact at Özyeğin University, emphasized the platform’s multidimensional approach: “Our platform is structured around three core axes: general AI topics, including new technological developments along with their ethical and legal implications; horizontal solutions that transform business processes; and sector-specific vertical solutions. This comprehensive initiative seamlessly integrates all these aspects, enabling synergy between academia, industry, and public stakeholders. It will catalyze joint projects and collaborative innovation.” 

The platform will serve as a dynamic environment to explore the potential impacts of artificial intelligence in sectors such as finance, retail, manufacturing, information technology, and media. It will also facilitate developing and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions across industries.
